There’s a ton of great content on Apple TV+ — but it’s not something everyone needs to pay for. Here’s how to cancel your subscription in a flash.

Apple TV+ has a ton of excellent content for folks to watch, but for anyone losing interest in Apple‘s streaming service, canceling a subscription takes just a few seconds. While Apple is still primarily a hardware company, its shift into the services niche has become monumental over the last couple of years. It has a subscription service for mobile games with Apple Arcade, offers premium news coverage with Apple News+, on-demand workouts via Apple Fitness+, and unlimited music streaming thanks to Apple Music. No matter what someone’s in the market for, there’s a good chance Apple has a service just for it.

One such service is Apple TV+. Launched in November 2019, Apple TV+ has quickly risen as one of the top streaming apps to watch. It’s home to the beyond excellent Ted Lasso, The Morning Show, and top-tier movies like CODA and Boys State. Its content library may not be as large as Netflix or Hulu, but from a quality standpoint, Apple TV+ has consistently put out more winners than losers.

Even so, that’s not to say Apple TV+ is for everyone. If someone’s free trial is ending or they no longer feel like paying the $5/month asking price, the good news is that canceling an Apple TV+ subscription is a piece of cake. Per Apple’s instructions, the easiest way to cancel is by visiting ‘tv.apple.com.’ Click ‘Sign in’ at the top-right of the website to log in with your Apple ID. Once logged in, click the profile icon in that same area, click ‘Settings,’ scroll down to the ‘Subscriptions’ section, click ‘Manage,’ and click ‘Cancel Subscription.’

Other Tips For Canceling Apple TV+

If the above website isn’t working, that’s because the Apple TV+ subscription needs to be canceled directly from the settings or App Store on an Apple device. For iPhones and iPads, the process is as follows: Open the Settings app, tap your name at the top of the screen, tap ‘Subscriptions,’ tap ‘Apple TV+’ from the list of available subscriptions, and tap ‘Cancel Apple TV+’ at the bottom of the page. On Mac, users need to open the App Store, click the profile icon at the bottom-left, and click ‘View information’ towards the top-right. After verifying your Apple ID email and password, scroll down the page, click ‘Subscriptions,’ click ‘Manage,’ click ‘Edit’ next to Apple TV+, and click ‘Cancel Subscription.’

After canceling an Apple TV+ subscription, it may be worth requesting a refund. There’s no guarantee Apple will provide one, but in some instances (such as forgetting to cancel before the free trial ended), Apple may be willing to do so. To request a refund, visit ‘reportaproblem.apple.com,’ sign in with the same Apple ID used for Apple TV+, click ‘I’d like to,’ at the top of the screen, click ‘Request a refund’ from the dropdown menu, select the reason for requesting a refund, click ‘Next,’ click Apple TV+ from the list of available purchases, and click ‘Submit.’ Apple may very well deny the refund request, but since there’s no harm in trying, it’s worth a shot if someone thinks they might be eligible.

And that’s all there is to canceling Apple TV+! It can be done through the dedicated website, directly through the Settings or App Store applications on Apple devices, and some folks may get lucky with a refund for their canceled membership. Subscribers can also come and go from Apple TV+ as often as they’d like. In other words, it’s possible to cancel a membership for a few months, come back when a new show is added, and leave once again if necessary.

Toggle Dark Mode

Apple TV+ has plenty of interesting shows that you’ll definitely want to check out. After all, Apple is betting a lot on this subscription-based service.

They’re even giving Apple TV+ away for free for those who bought certain Apple products in the hopes that they’ll love the service and continue to subscribe.. Although, not every one will.

People are expecting Apple TV+ to grow like crazy, but that’s in the near future.

Maybe right now you didn’t like the service and you want to cancel it. Or maybe your seven-day or your one-year free trial is over and you don’t want to start paying for it.

Whatever the reason may be, here is every way to cancel your Apple TV+ subscription.

With high-profile projects featuring some of the top names in entertainment, Apple TV Plus is one of the most prestigious subscription video streaming services rolled out in recent years. Apple TV+ can easily stream content like “The Morning Show” and “Oprah’s Book Club” on Apple devices ranging from the Apple TV to iPhone to your Mac.

The video-on-demand service costs a relatively affordable $4.99 a month after the seven-day free trial period has ended. Apple TV Plus subscriptions also renew automatically, meaning you won’t be prompted to cancel if you’ve been thinking about it. Luckily, the subscription is a month-to-month service and can be ended at any time.

For those who purchased the base subscription, you can cancel any time after your most recent renewal date — but before your next one — and keep your access to all Apple TV Plus has to offer for the remainder of your current billing cycle. If you’re still in your trial period or have a discounted subscription, make sure you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends so you aren’t charged.

Whether you’re unimpressed with the content library or simply done taking advantage of a free trial, you should know how to cancel if you need to.

Apple TV (For 4th generation and later. 3rd generation and earlier must manage subscriptions on an iOS device)

If you’re wondering how to manage Apple subscriptions, you’ve come to the right place. In this article, we’ll take a look at everything from how to find subscriptions on iTunes to how to cancel App Store subscriptions.

Let’s not waste another second; let’s get started.

Apple subscriptions explained

The subscription-based business model is booming in the app world, offering developers a consistent, reliable revenue stream while providing customers with an affordable and flexible service.

Today, Apple’s App Store has around 1.96 million apps, many of which require a subscription to work or a subscription to unlock premium features.

Depending on which subscription you opt for, you can manage and cancel your App Store subscriptions with just a few clicks, and I’m here to show you how.

How to check Apple subscriptions

These days, there is an app for just about everything, we use them daily for work, play, and socializing. It’s easy to forget what we’ve subscribed to, so,, here’s how you can check your Apple subscriptions:

How to cancel your apple tv subscription

Open the App Store on your Mac.

Bottom left, click your name, or sign in if you haven’t already.

Select View Information, top right, and sign in again if necessary.

Scroll down to the Manage section, click Manage to the right of Subscriptions.

Here you’ll see your subscriptions; click Edit to change your subscriptions settings or cancel.

How to manage third-party software subscriptions

It’s worth mentioning that not all your subscriptions are managed through Apple’s App Store. If you’ve downloaded third-party software like Microsoft Teams or the Adobe Suite, you’ll need to manage your subscriptions directly in the third-party app or through their website.

It will, of course, vary from software to software, but generally, log in to your account, head to your account settings and look out for plans or manage subscription options to manage or cancel your t software subscription.

How to protect your privacy on Mac

Apps collect and track lots of private data about us; the more apps you use, the more data is collected. It can be a bit overwhelming to discover just what information our favorite apps use and keep. That’s why I like to level up my data security.

In June 2020, Apple released an updated privacy information statement to try and help us understand the data collection practices of apps within the App Store, but for many, just relying on and trusting the App Store to do the protection for us is not enough.

Our data privacy is under constant threat from new malicious malware, fraudsters, and cyberattacks; that’s why I use the CleanMyMac X Privacy Module to add an extra layer of security to my data privacy.

CleanMyMac X makes it incredibly easy to remove your online browsing traces. Here’s how you can add an extra layer of protection to your data:

How to cancel your apple tv subscription

Select Privacy from the left sidebar.

Sort through the items from Application Permissions to Wi-Fi networks, choose items for deletion, and press Remove.

Not only does this remove data and activity traces, but it also frees up space on your startup disk, so it’s a win-win for me. Bonus points as the app is notarized by Apple and is really easy to use!

How to find subscriptions on iTunes

Many people still wonder how to find subscriptions on iTunes.

With the macOS Catalina update, iTunes was phased out, and Apple introduced what they described as a dedicated app for every type of media, so instead of iTunes, we now have:

Instead of letting iTunes centrally manage and access all of our purchases and subscriptions, we now access our purchases directly in the relevant app and manage our subscriptions centrally via the App Store.

I actually really like the new system; I like having my different types of media organized into relevant apps, rather than in one place like iTunes.

So, let’s take a look, for example, at how to disable Apple TV subscriptions.

How to disable Apple TV subscriptions

So you’re wondering how to cancel your Apple TV subscription, no problem, it’s easy to do.

1. Go to Settings on your Apple TV.

2. Select Users & Accounts.

3. Choose Subscriptions.

4. Select the subscription you want to manage and select Cancel Subscription.

If you don’t see the Cancel Subscription option, then it’s already canceled.

How to change iCloud plans

Many people wonder if you can change or manage your iCloud plan in the App Store, but this is done through your Apple ID; here’s how:

How to cancel your apple tv subscription

Select the Apple Menu > System Preferences > Apple ID.

Select iCloud > Manage > Change Storage Plan.

Here you can select to upgrade or downgrade your plan.

Follow the on-screen instructions and click Done to save.

You’ll most likely be prompted to enter your Apple ID account details; that’s perfectly normal.

So we’ve reached the end; we’ve looked at how to manage Apple subscriptions, how to level up our data privacy, and of course, how to cancel App Store subscriptions.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this read, don’t forget to read an app’s T&C’s before you agree to subscribe to their service if you are conscious about the data an app keeps and uses.

Seen everything you need to on Apple TV+? Here’s how to cancel the streaming service across all devices.

Apple TV+ has some great shows and movies you might like, but let’s face it: it’s not everyone’s favorite subscription service.

If your free trial is almost over, or you don’t want to continue paying, here’s how you can cancel Apple TV+ on the web, from your iPhone, and other devices.

What Happens When You Cancel Apple TV+

The good thing about Apple TV+ is that if you cancel your subscription right now, you’ll still be able to use it until the end of your billing cycle. Similar to what happens when you cancel your Netflix subscription, you can still watch any show or movie until before your renewal date.

The same goes for your free trial. Let’s say you start your trial today and you decide to cancel it immediately. You’ll still be able to use Apple TV+ until the free trial finishes.

How to Cancel Apple TV+ on the Web

Fortunately, canceling your Apple TV+ subscription is really easy, and you can do it almost from any platform or device you’re in by using a web browser. Here’s how:

  1. Go to tv.apple.com.
  2. If you need to, log in using the Apple ID credentials you used to subscribe to Apple TV+.
  3. Once you’re logged in, click on your profile in the top right corner.
  4. Click Settings.
  5. Scroll all the way down to the Subscriptions section.
  6. Click Manage.
  7. Click Cancel Subscription.
  8. Confirm by clicking Cancel Subscription again.

How to Cancel Apple TV+ on iPhone

If you’re on the go, you can still cancel your Apple TV+ subscription just by using your iPhone or your iPad. This is what you need to do:
