If you attempt to play the video, you will view an Insecure site promptly. Select View Certificate option to view the security certificate of your Google Chromecast device. Select Accept Permanently option to accept your Chromecast certificate. After you agree, the relevant video file will be played. You will be able to view the video on your Television being played directly from the VLC player.

You can make use of the controls in the VLC window to play, pause, fast forward, rewind and other playback related activities.
